My name is Wayne & this blog is about my 1982 CJ8 Scrambler. I bought my Jeep 19 years ago from Mr. Ed Wilson, Owner of Wilson 4×4 in Holly Hill, Florida. I always wanted a jeep, even though I knew nothing about them. I was not an off road junkie, I just wanted to drive and own a CJ. After I got married I said to my wife Lynn let’s buy a Jeep, so I purchased a truck trader and there buried among all the other ads was a 1982 CJ8 for sale. I was not familiar with the different CJ’s — the CJ5 the CJ7 or the CJ8 — but I could see in the photo that this one was different, it was longer and I loved the look of it. So Saturday morning came and Lynn and I drove from Orlando to meet Mr. Wilson. We pulled into Wilson 4×4 and there on the side of the building on the grass was the CJ8, she was just what I wanted. We gave Mr. Wilson a deposit and about a week later I picked her up and drove her home with the biggest grin on my face. That was the beginning of a bunch of fun. She was my daily driver ( still is ) and was perfect, no doors, no hard top, just a bimini top for those afternoon Florida storms. Then I started to learn about what I owned, Wow… I owned a Scrambler – the long bed Jeep.
